WHY VENTILATION?

You might think that the most energy-efficient attic is one that is sealed tight against outside air but that is not case. Proper attic ventilation is not only required by building codes, but  it is an integral part of Red Seal Total Energy Solution

We employ a combination of  products from soffit vents, ridge vents, wind turbines, and solar fans to pull  and move air through the attic. Wind or natural convection pulls air out of the attic through the ridge vents, while replacement air flows in through the soffits. It's a system that works with no moving parts or energy consumption. Depending upon the structure of your roof, other systems may be recommended - we also install wind turbines, air hawks, and a variety of powered and solar-powered fans.

In warm months, adequate attic ventilation prevents heat build-up in the attic, thereby reducing the load on your cooling system. In colder weather, it serves to pull out the warm, moist air generated by your laundry, showers, cooking, etc. (2-5 gallons per day - or more). If not vented, this moisture can condense on cooler solid surfaces and drip - becoming trapped in roofing and insulation, which can cause extensive water, rot and mold damage.

We cut out the full intended size for the hole. We can pull clogged or undersized vents and replace them with larger new vents. Maximize your intake into your attic.

WIND TURBINES

A time tested product that moves huge volumes of air out of your attic by the power of the wind. Wind velocity and heat from below spin the turbine which pumps the hot air from your attic. They are relatively inexpensive and require no power to operate. This product is excellent for higher pitched attics with short linear ridges.

SOLAR FANS

Lately the cost of this new technology has been reduced thus the prices for solar fans have decreased significantly.  Once installed it will continue to function independently for years to come without additional cost.for energy. A great product for long linear spans or all pitched roofs.  It is a passive design that does not pump air out of your attic  but allows the heat to escape up and out into the atmosphere.
